SHINSEI HAPKIDO FEDERATION ADVISORS

While the Shinsei Hapkido Federation is a fully autonomous organization, there are advisors that serve on the board of the Federation. They are:
Ed Byers
Mark Burton
Chris Dewey
George I. Petrotta - ISA Director and head of Sungjado, 8th dan through World Kido, and our adviser to the World Kido Federation.

If no Shinsei Hapkido class is available it is suggested that student search for a nearby class of Akayama Ryu under Soke Mark Barlow or one of his teachers. Likewise, if a student of Akayama Ryu cannot find a teacher they are invited to train with any of our Shinsei Hapkido classes.

Standard Flow of Class

Begin Class when teacher claps hands or gives the command to line up. This begins a silent time for students.
Students line up with highest belts on teacher's left side as he or she faces the class in front of the line of students.
Students should not sit or kneel until the teacher does so first or gives a command.
Teacher has a short time to teach a lesson or make observations and outline what will be taught.
Prayer is given from student or teacher.
Bow in from kneeling position or standing. In formal environments always bow from kneeling position. If the bow is from a standing position the heels should touch and toes point out at 45 degrees. Hands touch the seam of the pants.
Exercise, warm up, practice.
Stop practice and line up in the same position as bow in unless there was a promotion during class. The command is a verbal command from the teacher or a clap of hands.
Teacher makes observations and comments.
Pray
Bow to close class.
